Niskayuna High School defender Kit Christian was named to the inaugural all-state girls’ lacrosse team released Sunday by the New York State Sportswriters Association.

Christian, who graduated in June, made the large-school second team along with Bethlehem defender Claire Conway. First-team large-school honors went to Saratoga Springs midfielder Lindsey Frank and Guilderland defender Courtney Rafferty.

Christian was previously selected to the Suburban Council all-star first team. A superb one-on-one player, she helped Niskayuna finish second in the Section II Class B tournament this past spring.

State player of the year honors went to graduated seniors Jenn Medjid of Garden City (large-school) and Meaghan Tyrrell of Mount Saini (small-school).
