The Niskayuna Town Board unanimously passed the 2018 budget at its meeting on Thursday, Nov. 16.
The 2018 budget totals $15 million, an increase of about $11,000 over 2017. Also included is a 2 percent tax cut. Councilwoman Denise Murphy McGraw was absent as her grandmother had passed away and she was attending to family matters out of state.
Supervisor-elect Yasmine Syed was among those in attendance, and outgoing Supervisor Joe Landry publicly welcomed her and offered to help if she needed assistance as it related to the change in administration.
In total, the meeting lasted 35 minutes, during which motions to approve department budgets and amendments to budgets sailed through with no discussion.
