NISKAYUNA — Niskayuna Central School District sent out 4,200 memos last week that contained incorrect information. Another 4,200 notifications with correct information were posted on Friday.
The mailing is a transportation memo detailing bus route information. Instead of going out to the students enrolled in the upcoming school year, the cards were mailed to last year’s roster, including more than 300 2017 graduates.
The school district was notified of the error last week and issued a message on its website on Friday that said the district is “working quickly and diligently to get the correct information sent to you as soon as possible.”
The correct bus route notifications were mailed on Friday, August 25 and should be arriving in mailboxes across the district if they haven’t already arrived.
Officials are looking into software issues that they suspect may have caused the erroneous mailings. The error cost the district approximately $1,950.
The district is directing those with additional questions to contact the transportation department at 518-370-0160.
