Niskayuna sixth grade team wins Capital District Girls’ Basketball League title

Kathleen Birmingham scored 16 points, and the Niskayuna sixth grade team completed a perfect season by beating Burnt Hills 39-35 in the Capital District Girls’ Basketball League Sunday.
Lizzy Tessier added nine points, and Jackie Reffelt had seven as Niskayuna finished 23-0.
Birmingham and Reffelt had 11 points each in a 46-13 win over Brunswick in the quarterfinals. In a 37-20 semifinal victory over South Colonie, Reffelt scored 10 points Birmingham had nine.
The Niskayuna seventh grade team’s season came to an end with a 31-30 loss to Burnt Hills in the semifinals March 4. Ryleigh Endres had 14 points for Niskayuna, which finishes the season 12-5.
Niskayuna won its quarterfinal game against Mohonasen 40-27. Heather Schmidt led Niskayuna with 14 points, and Endres added 11.
