Ryals’ plus-1 helps Schenectady get past CBA 69-68

John Ryals converted a late three-point play to push Schenectady past Christian Brothers Academy 69-68 in a Suburban Council game Tuesday night.

Ryals finished with 27 points, Tyrone Jenkins scored 22 for the Patriots and Ben Baez matched his season high with 11.

Schenectady (11-4, 13-4) trailed by 11 points in the final quarter before rallying for its second win in a row and fourth in five games. Jordan King and Pryce Wasula sparked CBA with 22 and 20 points, respectively, and King nailed six 3-pointers.

Chris Hulbert set a Shenendehowa one-game record with nine 3-point baskets and finished with 33 points, and the Plainsmen popped for 16 3-pointers in all, in an 82-74 comeback win at Shaker.

The Plainsmen trailed at the half 39-35 before rallying for their 15th victory.

Mike Pizziketti scored 18 points for the Plainsmen, and Sloan Seymour ignited Shaker with 30, which included a school one-game record eight 3-pointers. Devin Mahoney added 14 points for the Blue Bison.

Colonie dropped 35 points on Columbia in the third quarter, and went on to post a 62-40 victory.

Will Aybar led Colonie with 15 points, Brendan Mulson scored 14, and Josh Paszkowski added 12. Joe Meehan paced Columbia with 16 points.

Noah Yearsley scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half, and Ryan Long scored 11 of his 14 over the first two quarters as Averill Park ran away with a 75-35 win at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.

Kyle Fisher sank a trio of 3-pointers to help stake BH-BL to a 14-11 first-quarter lead. Averill Park followed with an 18-4 run in the next quarter and a 22-6 spurt in the third when Anthony Germinerio scored eight of his 13 points.

Hayden Thompson led 10 Bethlehem scorers with 18 points in a 66-43 win over Guilderland.

Matt Riker added 11 points for the Eagles. Grant Mengel topped the Dutchmen with 14 points.

Deonte Holder scored 25 points, and Carter Stewart had a triple-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists in Mekeel Christian Academy’s 107-55 Western Athletic Conference win over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons.

Oscar Iteji scored 17 points for 16-0 Mekeel, and Carter Stewart put in 15 on five 3-pointers. Nacier Hundley scored 27 points for the Golden Knights.

Sean Nolan fired in 29 points to lift Voorheesville over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 76-49 in a Colonial Council game.

Fourteen different players had at least one 3-pointer in the game.

Ravion Burt clicked for 23 points, and Joey Atkins delivered 1 as Watervliet defeated Catholic Central 76-57.

Jackson Brown led four double-digit Cannoneers with 19 points.

Davonte Jones and Jahidi Wallace both scored 15 points, Tyler Rhoden had 12, and Lansingburgh clipped Cohoes 59-57.

Marquis Alston scored 20 points fort Cohoes.
