ALBANY- Two teens, one from Niskayuna and one from Schenectady, are facing felony counts for possessing stolen items.
State police stopped the pair as they were driving on Interstate 90 in Albany on Dec. 21.
Police found $7,500 worth of Nike apparel, iPhone cases and tote bags. All items still had security tags and price tags attached.
According to police, the pair had two large handbags with devices designed to deflect store security systems. Although police were able to find out where most of the items were stolen from, the items are being retained for evidence.
The 17-year-old female from Niskayuna was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a felony and with criminal possession of an anti-security item. She was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after police found a baggie of the drug with her.
The 16-year-old female from Schenectady was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property and with criminal possession of an anti-security item.
The pair was arraigned in Albany City Court and order to return for further action at a later date.
