Olivia Piraino scored two goals, and Ali Greco notched the game-winner as top-seeded Niskayuna rallied twice to beat Columbia 3-2 in a Section II Class AA quarterfinal soccer game Monday.
Piraino tied the game at 2 in the sixth minute of the second half and assisted on Greco’s deciding goal in the 23rd minute.
Columbia grabbed the lead five minutes in on a goal by Margaret Berger, and, after Piraino quickly answered, Bridget Austin pushed the Blue Devils ahead in the 17th minute.
Erin Doyle made nine saves for the Silver Warriors. Sage Smith made 11 stops for the Blue Devils.
Ya-Ya Van Ness and Sarah Covell scored goals early in the first half, and Julia McDonald made three saves to lift Saratoga Springs over Colonie 2-0.
Julia DiMenna and Chloe Ray had assists for the Blue Streaks (11-3-2), who play Niskayuna (14-0-3) Thursday night at 7 at Stillwater.
