NISKAYUNA- The malfunction of a control valve on Niskayuna’s water system on Tuesday caused water in some pipes to change direction, which stirred up sediment.
The valve has been repaired. Some homeowners are still experiencing discolored water. Despite discoloring, the water is safe, according to the Town.
Crews conducted overnight hydrant flushing in the areas impacted. Additional flushing will take place Wednesday evening in the Rosendale Estates area, on Parkville Place, and on Owasco Court.
The Town recommends that anyone experiencing discolored water should run cold water until it clears.
However, if discoloration continues, call the Niskayuna Water Department: (518) 377-8411.
