Soccer: Niskayuna girls rally from 2-0 deficit, defeat Bethlehem

Olivia Piraino broke a second-half tie with her second goal as Niskayuna stormed back to beat Bethlehem 3-2 in a Suburban Council girls’ soccer game Tuesday.

Bethlehem led 2-0 before Piraino scored late in the opening half. Erica Wasserbach tied the game on a penalty kick and assisted on Piraino’s game-winning goal.

Bethlehem built its lead on goals by Grace Hotaling and Olivia Miranda.

Ianah Mackey scored two goals and Devanee Baskerville had Colonie’s other goal in a 3-2 win over Shenendehowa.

Kendra Harbinger and Jenn Kirker scored for Shenendehowa.

Lindsey Jameson and Cassidy Karl delivered first-half goals, and Anna Scott made seven stops for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in a 2-0 triumph over Troy.

Syd Haskin collected three goals, and Megan Glanton scored a goal and made four saves to help Averill Park get past Albany 5-0.

Sally Holden also scored for Averill Park.

Guilderland and Saratoga Springs played to a 2-2 tie. Kerry Gerety and Cara Mortati scored for Guilderland, with Amanda Rice assisting on both goals. Ainsley Cummings and Emily Turner tallied for Saratoga.

Second-half goals by Cait Wood and Lauren Martuscello, and a nine-save effort by Madison LaMarch propelled Shaker past Columbia 2-0.

Vanessa Wainwright, Jess Clifford, Anna Tommasone and Casey Dillenback scored goals as Schalmont (8-0-1, 8-1-1) remained unbeaten in the Colonial Council with a 4-2 victory over Cobleskill-Richmondville.

Emma Osterhoudt and Allie Pacatte scored for the Bulldogs.

Maddy Teta and Caitlyn Maloney both had a goal and an assist, and Lansingburgh pulled away in the second half to beat Watervliet 5-1.

Dimetria McIntyre, Shiana Milam and Taylor Welcome had the other Lansingburgh goals, and Makayla Criscione had two assists. Madison Clermont scored for Watervliet.

Veda Hensel had three goals and an assist, and Kaelyn Lawson had two goals and three assists in Voorheesville’s 12-0 win over Ichabod Crane.

Julia Voss scored two goals for the Blackbirds, Hannah Danz and Rebecca Gregg both finished with a goal and two assists and Maddy McDonnell and Megan Romansky added goals.

Albany Academy beat Cohoes 2-0 on goals by Sarah Richardson and Penny Rocchio. Nivya Menakura made eight saves for the shutout.

Emily Vallee scored three first-half goals, two assisted by Maddy Nevins, and Schuylerville beat Johnstown 4-0 in a Foothills Council game Monday.

Vallee boosted her season total to 17 goals with her second hat trick this fall. Nevins scored in the second half for the Black Horses (8-0-1, 8-1-1)

BOYS

Will Austin scored a pair of first-half goals, both coming after long flip throws by Stephen Spraker, and Broadalbin-Perth beat Queensbury 2-0 in a game pitting the top Foothills Council teams.

Ian Halloran made four saves for the Patriots (9-0-0, 11-0-0), who recorded their eighth shutout. The Spartans (8-1-0, 9-2-0) got four saves from Tom Socolof.

Glens Falls got two goals from Andy Culliton and another from Willy Herrmann in a 3-2 win over Johnstown.

Andrew Stamatel had two assists for Glens Falls. Matt Boyle scored both goals for Johnstown.

Tom Linehan and Eric Connolly had the goals as South Glens Falls edged Scotia-Glenville 2-1.

Matt Williams scored for the Tartans.

Kaden O’Shaughnessy and Raymond Strauser scored goals for Gloversville in a 2-1 win over Hudson Falls.

Kaz McLaughlin scored for Hudson Falls.

Kevin Piccolino scored 15 seconds into the second half, and Nate Weinstock and Erin Gumustop added goals as Bethlehem beat Niskayuna 3-0 in a Suburban Council game.

Ryan Henning made five saves for the Eagles.

Trevor Chung scored off an assist from Nick Evans in the first half, and Evans added an insurance goal in the second stanza as Shenendehowa beat Colonie 2-0.

Greg Monroe made four saves for the shutout.

Shaker beat Columbia 3-0 on goals by Dan Adediran, Jarod Croteau and Jai Mangat.

Evan Farr scored a pair of goals for Saratoga Springs in the last five minutes of the opening half, and the Blue Streaks played to a 2-2 tie with Guilderland.

Niko Moutopoulos scored a goal after assisting on two earlier ones, and Albany Academy beat Cohoes 5-2 in a Colonial Council game.

Niko Szelest, George Ware and Caleb Phelan each had a goal and an assist for the

Cadets, and Ryan Uccellini had a goal. Jerry Oliver and Cameron Bourgeois scored for the Tigers.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk beat Catholic Central 2-1 on goals by Brandon Bienvenue and Chris Miller.

Lucas Kania scored for the Crusaders.

Hunter Guertin supplied both goals as Waterford-Halfmoon beat Hoosic Valley 2-0 in the Wasaren League.

Stillwater clipped Mechanicville 4-3 on two goals by Jake Zdonick and single tallies by Brody Ceipal and Grant Baker.

Jeff Luce, Marcus Tobin and Connor Keegan scored for the Red Raiders.
