Niskayuna baseball, track stars earn league honors

NISKAYUNA — A pair of Niskayuna girls’ outdoor track and field athletes received Suburban Council all-star selections

Amelia Kokernak was selected for the 800-meter run, while Karen Leap earned the honor for the discus throw.

Meanwhile, six Niskayuna baseball players received league recognition from the Suburban Council.

Making the second team was outfielder Zach LeBlanc.

Pitchers Nick Insognia, Zach Kerr and Alec Ritzenthaler all earned honorable mentions, as did catcher Matt Toy and third baseman Liam Davison.
