10 Niskayuna teams earn academic honor

NISKAYUNA — Ten of the Niskayuna High School winter sports teams were recently honored as scholar-athlete teams by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

To qualify as a scholar-athlete team, a pool of players from a given team must combine for an academic average of 90.0 or higher.

Here is how the winter’s scholar-athlete teams stacked up:

Girls’ indoor track and field: 95.42

Boys’ skiing: 95.36

Hockey: 94.45

Boys’ swimming and diving: 94.37

Boys’ bowling: 93.45

Girls’ basketball: 92.98

Cheer: 91.93

Girls’ bowling: 91.27

Boys’ indoor track and field: 90.93

Wrestling: 90.06
