NISKAYUNA — Early registration for the annual Schenectady County Pedal-Paddle-Run Triathlon is now open. The event will be held at 8 a.m. May 7 beginning at Aqueduct Park in Niskayuna.

Participants will bike, kayak/canoe, and run along Aqueduct Road, the Mohawk Hudson Bikeway, and the Mohawk River.

To participate, form a team (ages 16 and up), with each member or members completing a different section of the race in relay fashion: biking (approximately seven miles), kayak/canoeing (approximately two miles) and running (3.5 miles). Participants can also compete as an individual, completing each section independently.

Early registration is $25 per participant and there are a limited number of kayaks for rental. Local businesses do rent kayaks and are listed on the Schenectady County website.

Registration is available www.schenectadycounty.com/ppr.
