NISKAYUNA — Here is what you need to know for today about Niskayuna athletics.

SATURDAY’S SCORES

BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY: 2nd overall at EJ Herrman invitational

BOYS’ SOCCER: Guilderland 2, Niskayuna 1

FOOTBALL: Averill Park 35, Niskayuna 28

GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY: 2nd overall at EJ Herrman invitational

GIRLS’ SOCCER: Niskayuna 2, Baldwinsville 1

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL: Reached semifinals of Averill Park tournament

THE HIGHLIGHTS

For the Niskayuna boys’ cross country team, Charlie Ragone led the way with a third-place finish at the Herrman invitational, while the Niskayuna girls’ cross country squad received a fourth-place finish from Amelia Kokernak.

Marika Contompasis and Izzy Lynch each scored in the Niskayuna girls’ soccer team’s victory, while Ronan Schreer scored the Niskayuna boys’ soccer team’s lone goal.

Also, in the Niskayuna football team’s defeat, Jake Shephard passed for 173 yards and played a role in three touchdown scores.
