ALBANY — On Sept. 16, 41-year-old Jeremy Allen of Niskayuna pleaded guilty to charges that he received and kept child pornography, according to the U.S. Department of Justice’s Northern District of New York.

Allen admitted he knowingly received and possessed pornography involving prepubescent children and children younger than 12 years old between November 2013 and July 2014.

Allen faces at least five years in prison, and as many as 20, for one count of receipt of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography. Allen will be sentenced Jan. 14 by U.S. District Judge Gary L. Sharpe in Albany.

The FBI and Colonie Police Department investigated the case, which was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative to protect children online.
