SCHENECTADY — Heather Graham has been hired as The Daily Gazette’s digital director, a new position at the company.

Graham, a Niskayuna native, got her start in digital media in 2000. She has extensive experience in the field as a writer, editor, developer and strategist.

Most recently, she worked as a health editor for iVillage, part of NBCUniversal Digital News that was integrated in 2014 into Today.com. While working at iVillage, Graham was responsible for implementing content strategies, developing talent, creating lifestyle franchises and promoting content through social media marketing and newsroom teams.

Prior to that position, she helped launch the online consumer health site Everyday Health.

In her new position, Graham is responsible for all of The Daily Gazette’s digital platforms and will help implement a strategy to make the newspaper a more powerful presence in the marketplace, said Editor Judith Patrick.
