ALBANY — Charlie Ragone, Niskayuna High School’s lone competitor at this year’s June 13 outdoor track and field state championships, finished in 16th place with a time of 4:19.71 in the boys’ 1,600-meter run.

Ragone had entered the event as the No. 14 runner with a seed time of 4:21.10.

Ragone, a junior, had bested Colonie’s Jake Johnson at the state qualifier meet to make it to the state championships. Johnson finished in fourth place at the state championships.

Both the qualifier and the championship meets were at the University at Albany.
