MIDDLETOWN — The Niskayuna boys’ lacrosse team scored the biggest win of its season and perhaps in program history today, knocking off Syosset 14-11 in the state semifinals at Faller Field.

Niskayuna will play for a state championship 1:30 p.m. Saturday against West Genesee at Vestal High School. The Silver Warriors have never won a state title.

Lucas Quinn scored five goals in today’s victory, which came against the state’s No. 1 team. Niskayuna had entered the game ranked No. 9, but outscored Syosset 4-0 in the final period to pick up the win.

Also for the Silver Warriors, Aidan O’Brien had three goals and four assists, while James Sexton scored twice.
