Silver Warriors athletics rundown: May 15

NISKAYUNA — Here are five things to know for today about Niskayuna High School athletics:

1: Senior Night was Thursday for the Niskayuna boys lacrosse team and the Silver Warriors celebrated in grand fashion. Playing against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, Niskayuna was a 21-3 winner. John Prendergast and Connor Wolff each scored four goals in the win.

2: Bri Sacks had three goals, Cat Sexton had two scores and two helpers, and Alissa Franze scored twice to lead the Niskayuna girls lacrosse team to a 9-4 win Thursday against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. The win wrapped up a perfect regular season for Niskayuna.

3: Today, seeds for the Section II boys and girls lacrosse postseason tournaments are released. The Niskayuna boys lacrosse team is expected to be the No. 1 seed in Class A, while the Niskayuna girls lacrosse squad is the likely No. 1 in Class B.

4: Both the Niskayuna baseball and Niskayuna softball squads finish off their regular seasons today with away games against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. The baseball contest will take place at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam.

5: Thursday, the Niskayuna boys tennis team came up short in its quest for a Section II team title. In the championship match, the Silver Warriors lost to Guilderland.
