Silver Warriors athletics rundown: May 1

NISKAYUNA — Here are five things to know for today and this weekend about Niskayuna High School athletics:

1: Head coach Mike Vorgang collected win No. 350 Thursday, as the Niskayuna boys lacrosse team trounced Columbia, 22-2. In the victory, Connor Wolff had five goals, Aidan Byrne had four, and both Gallagher Gregory and John Prendergast each had three.

2: Another game, another win for the Niskayuna girls lacrosse team. The squad was a 17-7 winner against Columbia Thursday, as both Bri Sacks and Alissa Franze had four goals.

3: The Niskayuna baseball team gets a treat this weekend with a couple fun venues. The squad will head to Joe Bruno Stadium to take on Columbia at today; then, Saturday, the club will play Schenectady at Blatnick Park under the lights.

4: Both Niskayuna outdoor track and field teams will be at Saturday’s Colonie Relays. It is the 50th running of the event. Thursday, the Niskayuna boys lost a pair of league matchups, but the school’s 4×100-meter relay team of Jacob Wick, Xavier Harris, Joseph Romano, and Michael Reyes won its race.

5: Niskayuna Rowing hosts some Section II championship events Saturday before heading to Fish Creek Sunday for the conclusion of the event. The program won three races last weekend.

7:30 p.m.: Baseball hosts Schenectady, at Blatnick Park
Sunday
6 a.m.: Crew hosts Section II championship regatta, at Aqueduct Park on Mohawk River
Monday
4:15 p.m.: Boys tennis hosts Shaker, at Central Park
4:30 p.m.: Softball at Troy
