NISKAYUNA — Here are five things to know for today about Niskayuna High School athletics:

The matchup today for the Niskayuna baseball squad is a major one. Shenendehowa junior pitcher Ian Anderson will get the start against Niskayuna, and his matchup with Silver Warriors star Garrett Whitley is expected to draw major attention from professional scouts.

Four goals and two assists from Lucas Quinn helped to lead the Niskayuna boys lacrosse squad to a 13-6 win Thursday against Shenendehowa. The Silver Warriors now own first place in their division after toppling the last unbeaten team in league action besides themselves.

Similarly, the Niskayuna girls lacrosse squad also sits alone in first place after beating Shenendehowa, 13-7. Alissa Franze had seven — seven! — goals in Thursday’s win for Niskayuna.

The Niskayuna softball team dropped a 13-3 decision to Averill Park on Thursday. The squad plays host today to Shenendehowa.

Niskayuna Rowing gets going this weekend. The crew team will be at the Saratoga Invitational Regatta this Saturday and Sunday.
