NISKAYUNA — Rain ruined everything Wednesday, but here are three things to know for today about Niskayuna High School athletics:

1: A couple state-ranked teams will be playing when the Niskayuna boys lacrosse team plays host to Shenendehowa today. Niskayuna is at No. 12 in the state and Shenendehowa rests at No. 15. Both squads are undefeated in league action.

2: Meanwhile, the Niskayuna girls lacrosse squad will hit the road to take on Shenendehowa in another monster matchup. The Silver Warriors are undefeated — and ranked No. 10 in the state — and the Plainsmen are undefeated in the Suburban Council. Something’s got to give when these two play, and the winner grabs first place.

3: Let’s stick with the theme from above: Friday, Shenendehowa and the Niskayuna baseball team will square off in a matchup featuring two of the area’s best players in Niskayuna’s Garrett Whitley and Shenendehowa’s Ian Anderson. That game is expected to have approximately 50 scouts attend to watch Whitley take his cuts against Anderson.
