NISKAYUNA — Five things to know for today about Niskayuna High School athletics:

  1. Tuesday, Marisa DiVietro … well … whoa. The Niskayuna girls lacrosse player scored nine — NINE — goals in her team’s 20-0 victory against Averill Park, while she also had an assist. Meanwhile, Cat Sexton had seven assists, Maya Manchester had six saves in her shutout, Bri Sacks and Dana Melby each had three goals, and Ellie Petraccione had two goals and two assists.
  2. Four players had multiple hits for the Niskayuna baseball team in its 7-3 win Tuesday against Bethlehem. Zach LeBlanc had two singles and a double, Mike VanHeusen and Garrett Whitley each had a double and a single, and Kyle Pick had two singles. Chris Wilk allowed one run in four innings to pick up the win.
  3. Some updated state rankings: Niskayuna boys lacrosse is at No. 12, the girls are at No. 10.
  4. More lacrosse: Big games are looming Thursday for both the boys and girls team. The boys will play host to Shenendehowa in a matchup of state-ranked teams, while the girls will travel to Shenendehowa with first place in the Suburban Council on the line.
  5. Rain is expected for today. If the skies open, @ByMichaelKelly will have schedule updates.
