NISKAYUNA — Five things to know about yesterday’s news and upcoming action for Niskayuna High School athletics:

  1. Two goals apiece from Sam Assini, Evan Maloney, Aidan O’Brien, and James Sexton helped the Niskayuna boys lacrosse team to a 17-4 win Thursday against La Salle Institute in non-league action. Meanwhile, Lucas Quinn had a goal and five assists.
  2. Despite home runs from Stacy Gordon and Gabby Schaffer, the Niskayuna softball team fell Thursday in eight innings to Mohonasen, 6-5. The Silver Warriors are 2-2 on the season.
  3. It’s a big couple days for the Niskayuna outdoor track and field teams. Today is the teams’ Medley Relay Challenge, while Saturday has the Warrior Classic at the high school.
  4. After a couple days off, the Niskayuna girls lacrosse team will look to keep its unblemished record intact Saturday against Bethlehem.
  5. Three games in three days await the Niskayuna baseball team, starting with today’s contest against Mohonasen. If the Silver Warriors get all three of those games played, the squad will have made up all its postponed contests from earlier in the season.
