Boys Lacrosse: Niskayuna wins 50th area game in a row

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Niskayuna extended its Section II boys lacrosse winning streak to 50 games Friday by roughing up Saratoga Springs, 19-1, in Suburban Council action at Skidmore College.

Evan Maloney had seven goals and an assist, and Aidan O’Brien collected two goals and seven assists for the three-time defending Section II champion Silver Warriors (2-0).

Niskayuna’s last loss inside Section II came against Shenendehowa in the 2011 Class A title game. Niskayuna beat Shenendehowa in the 2012 and 2014 Class A finals, and topped Ballston Spa for the 2013 Class B crown, as part of its 50-game streak.

James Sexton added two goals and two assists for the Silver Warriors.
