NISKAYUNA — Nominating petitions are available for individuals interested in serving on the Niskayuna Central School District Board of Education.
Two seats will be up for election May 19, the same day as the school budget vote.
Those interested in running for the post can pick up a petition between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. from the district clerk at the district offices, 1239 Van Antwerp Road. To appear on the ballot, candidates must return their petition with the signatures of 77 qualified district voters by 4 p.m. April 20.
Board members serve unpaid three-year terms. The terms of the Board members elected this year will begin July 1 and expire June 30, 2018.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, qualified voters in the school district and have resided in the district continuously for at least one year before the election. The district clerk can be reached by phone at 377-4666, ext. 50712.
