Girls Bowling: Julia Favata competes at state championships

SYRACUSE — Niskayuna junior Julia Favata finished in 25th place at the March 7-8 bowling state championships at AMF Strike-N-Spare Lanes.

Favata bowled two series of games at the state championships and compiled an average of 175.33. In succession, Favata bowled games of 169, 181, 176, 160, 173, and 193 for a total of 1,052.

Favata qualified to compete as an individual and contributed to a fifth-place finish for Section II in the 11-section competition.

Alissa Fontana of Section XI won the individual title with an average of 207.83 and Section VI won the by-section competition.
