NISKAYUNA — The Niskayuna Girls Travel Basketball fourth-grade squad was a winner Jan. 25 when the program’s squads took on Clifton Park.
The fourth-grade team won its game, 24-4, as Jacque Reffelt had eight points and Kathleen Birmingham added seven. The club is now 7-3 on the season.
Meanwhile, the Biddy A club took a 51-20 loss in its game despite six points from Hannah Collins and four from Katie Atchinson, bringing the team to 3-9 for the season; the Biddy B squad moved to 8-4 after a 33-10 loss despite a nice game from Rita Foti; and the Junior B team collected a 45-30 win against Clifton Park, as Lila Conners scored 20 points, Natalie Prian had 10, and Emma Souky added 8. The club is now 12-0 for the season.
Meanwhile, the association’s fifth-grade boys squad collected its fourth win in a row when the program’s teams played Saratoga Springs Jan. 25.
The fifth-graders won their game, 44-33, as Jack Allen led the squad with 14 points. Darian Parker added a dozen points for Niskayuna, while Danny Quinn had eight.
In the eighth-grade game, a short-handed Niskayuna club took a 63-31 loss despite Tim Schaffer’s 10 points; at the seventh-grade level, Saratoga Springs took a 55-34 win to which Niskayuna’s Luke DeBritz and Ethan St. Lucia each contributed eight points.
For the Niskayuna sixth-graders, it was a valiant effort from top to bottom in a 36-25 loss against one of the area’s top team.
In the fourth-grade game, Greyson Vorgang and Saif Chowdhrey each scored four points in a 38-19 loss during which five other Niskayuna players recorded points.
