Superintendent to give update

NISKAYUNA — All residents are invited to the Town of Niskayuna Library on Friday, Oct. 24, for a discussion with Interim Superintendent of Schools John Yagielski about the organizational restructuring that is underway in the district.

The meeting will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the library’s community meeting room. It will include a progress report on the goals that were established when Yagielski came to Niskayuna last spring, followed by an overview of the organizational restructuring and an opportunity to ask questions.

PTO craft fair

NISKAYUNA — The Niskayuna PTO will hold its annual craft fair Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Niskayuna High School.

The fair will feature goods made by over 100 local crafters and vendors. The PTO is also seeking volunteers to donate baked goods and run bake sale tables during the event, as well as volunteers to set up tables at the high school at 5:30 p.m. the night before. Garage sale fundraiser

NISKAYUNA — The Schenectady JCC will hold a fundraiser garage sale to benefit its Early Childhood Education program from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.

Items for sale will include clothes, housewares, electronics, collectibles, baby items, toys, books, and more. There will also be a bag sale at 1:15 p.m.

Temple concert

NISKAYUNA — The Singer Family Free Concert Series continues at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 at Congregation Gates of Heaven.

Its will feature Kliment Krylovskiy on the clarinet and Francine Kay on the piano, playing an eclectic range of music from around the globe. The public is welcome.

Halloween parade

NISKAYUNA — The fifth annual Niskayuna Halloween Parade will be held at Town Hall from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.

Niskayuna children are invited to attend for a costume parade around the circle, as well as cider and donuts. Please bring a nonperishable food item to donate. Girl Scout Troop 2383 will collect canned goods for the food bank.

‘Great Pumpkin Concert’

NISKAYUNA — The community is invited to attend “It’s the Great Pumpkin Concert” (in the spirit of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”) at Niskayuna High School at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30. The show will feature the Studio Singers, Symphonic Band, and Chamber Strings, who will perform music, skits and more.
