The Schenectady City Council will meet again tonight to hear about the casino proposed for the old Alco site. An op-ed in Sunday’s Gazette by Thomas Hodgkins noted that in the town of Niskayuna, every single one of its 20 election districts — the majority of which are as equidistant from ALCO as city election districts — voted against increasing the regressivity of tax collections by building a casino.
